Europe's official seal on Gaza genocide
In a joint and brazen decision, European Union leaders have effectively given the green light to the Israeli regime to continue its mass killings and genocide in the Gaza Strip. In response to the EU’s recent decision not to take action against Israel for its human rights violations in the Gaza war, Gideon Sa’ar, foreign minister in Netanyahu’s cabinet, called the move a “diplomatic success,” while Palestinian sources described it as “shocking and disheartening.”
Here’s the situation: last week, EU foreign ministers considered ten possible measures against Israel over its breach of the EU-Israel Association Agreement, specifically regarding respect for Palestinian human rights. However, due to internal disagreements, they chose to postpone any action against Israel.
In other words, at a time when genocide and Israeli brutality in Gaza have reached their peak, European leaders have effectively assured Tel Aviv that no serious obstacles will be placed in the way of this mass slaughter. European arms manufacturers and the covert and overt support of European governments in profiting from the bloodshed in Gaza have clearly played a role in shaping this policy.
Europe has not only positioned itself as an accomplice to the crimes of the Zionist regime in West Asia but also as a driving force in the escalation of these atrocities—and shows no hesitation in continuing this disgraceful partnership. The EU’s semantic games in Brussels reveal much. Instead of “punishing” Israel for its actions in Gaza, they decided merely to “closely monitor” Israel’s latest promises to allow humanitarian aid into the Strip.
The message behind Europe’s decision is not hard to decipher: they are unwilling to impose any real cost on Tel Aviv for continuing the genocide, and at the same time offer no clear definition or enforcement mechanism for their so-called “monitoring of aid delivery.”
Meanwhile, the number of Gazan martyrs—including thousands of defenseless women and children—has reached nearly 60,000, with hundreds of thousands more dying slowly from starvation in Khan Younis and Rafah. Still, Kaja Kallas, the EU’s High Representative for Foreign Policy, claims that options such as canceling visa-free travel for Israelis and limiting trade with illegal settlements remain “on the table,” and that if Israel fails to meet its obligations, the EU will be “ready to act.”
This is the unmasked face of Europe—a continent now openly complicit in the crimes against Gaza. Its partnership with the executioners of the Palestinian people is no longer speculative—it is a documented and declared reality.
