Latest News on the third round of indirect Iran-US Talks

Seyyed Abbas Araghchi, Iran's Foreign Minister, arrived in Muscat on Friday, leading a diplomatic and technical-expert delegation for the third round of indirect talks with the US, welcomed by Omani Foreign Ministry officials.

Majid Takht-Ravan chi, Deputy Foreign Minister for Political Affairs, Kazem Gharib Abadi, Deputy for Legal and International Affairs, and Esmaeil Baghaei, Foreign Ministry Spokesman, along with several diplomatic and technical experts, are accompanying the Foreign Minister in these talks.

At the start of the visit, the Foreign Minister met with Badr Albusaidi, Oman's Foreign Minister and mediator of these indirect talks.

Third round of indirect Iran-US talks begins

The third round of indirect talks between Iran and the US began on Saturday in Muscat, Oman.

Details of Iran-US technical-expert talks in Muscat

Known as the Muscat Talks, this round begins at the technical-expert level and later at a high level, involving Seyyed Abbas Araghchi, Iran's Foreign Minister, and Steve Witkoff, Donald Trump’s representative for Middle East affairs.

On Friday, April 25, 2025, Araghchi arrived in Muscat, leading a diplomatic and technical-expert delegation for the third round of indirect talks with the US, welcomed by Omani Foreign Ministry officials.

Majid Takht-Ravan chi, Kazem Gharib Abadi, Esmaeil Baghaei, and several diplomatic and technical experts are accompanying the Foreign Minister.

Following the pattern of previous rounds, Araghchi met with Omani Foreign Minister Badr Albusaidi at the start of the visit.

Reports indicate that Witkoff arrived in Oman from Moscow on Saturday morning.

Iran’s technical and expert delegation traveled to Muscat with the Foreign Minister for indirect expert-level talks with the US.

Esmail Baghaei, spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, wrote on the X regarding the third round of indirect Iran-US talks in Oman: Foreign Minister and the accompanying delegation have arrived in Muscat to participate in the third round of Iran-US talks, which are being held with the mediation of the Foreign Minister of Oman.

We are determined to protect the legal and legitimate rights of the Iranian people to use nuclear energy for peaceful purposes, and at the same time, we are ready to take reasonable steps to provide assurances about the completely peaceful nature of our nuclear program.

Ending the illegal and inhumane sanctions against the Iranian people, objectively and quickly, is a priority for us.

It remains to be seen to what extent the other side has the necessary seriousness and readiness for a fair and realistic agreement.
