The Head of Judiciary’s visit marks a turning point in Iran’s legal diplomacy
In an interview with Mizan, Ahmadi discussed the significance of the Chief Justice’s visit to China, saying: “The recent visit of the Chief Justice to the People’s Republic of China should be viewed as more than just an official trip. It is a milestone in strengthening judicial and legal relations between the two countries and reflects the judiciary’s determination to play an active role on the international stage, especially at a time when the world faces complex legal issues and emerging challenges such as transnational crimes, money laundering, and cyber threats.”
The representative of Miandoab added: “From the perspective of the people’s representatives, this visit is a valuable opportunity to exchange experiences in areas such as combating corruption, developing modern judicial systems, and enhancing legal transparency. China, with its complex judicial structure and successful experience in legal reforms, can serve as a complementary model for some of the reforms needed in Iran. Conversely, Iran can share its valuable experiences in Islamic and people-centered justice with the Chinese side.”
Ahmadi highlighted that one of the key outcomes of this visit is the special focus on the rights and issues of Iranians living abroad, stating: “Establishing judicial cooperation channels with countries like China can facilitate faster handling of legal cases involving Iranians, ensure their access to legal consultations, and even address the situation of Iranian convicts. This is a significant step toward providing practical support for the rights of Iranians beyond our borders.”
He emphasized: “Overall, the Chief Justice’s visit to China should be regarded as a bright point in the path toward strengthening the country’s legal authority. This visit exemplifies Iran’s judicial system engaging with the world in a dignified and prudent manner—a step toward reinforcing the rule of law, protecting national interests, and building a future where justice is not merely a slogan but a global practice.”
