Today, as part of the seventh round of the first phase of the prisoner exchange between Hamas and the Zionist regime, more than 600 Palestinian prisoners, including prisoners sentenced to life imprisonment and heavy sentences, will be released in exchange for 6 Zionist prisoners.

Today, on the 35th day of the implementation of the ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip, the seventh round of the first phase of the prisoner exchange between the Palestinian resistance and the Zionist regime will take place.

The Izz ad-Din al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of the Hamas movement, has been preparing for the handover ceremony of the 6 Zionist prisoners since this morning.

The Palestinian Prisoners Information Office also announced that today, Saturday, as part of the first phase of the prisoner exchange, 50 Palestinian prisoners sentenced to life imprisonment, 60 prisoners with heavy sentences, 47 prisoners who were released in a loyalty deal with the freed in 2011 and then re-arrested, along with 445 prisoners who were arrested by the Zionists after October 7, 2023, will be released.

One of those who will be released in the seventh phase of the prisoner exchange based on the ceasefire agreement is Nael al-Barghouthi, the oldest Palestinian prisoner in the prisons of the Zionist regime.

Nael al-Barghouthi spent 45 years of his life in the prisons of the Zionist regime; this is the longest period of detention in the history of the Palestinian resistance.

Nael al-Barghouthi, the oldest Palestinian prisoner (68 years old) from the village of Kobar in Ramallah, was arrested by the occupation regime in 1978 on charges of killing a Zionist settler and blowing up a cafe in Jerusalem and sentenced to life imprisonment and 18 years in prison.

He was released in 2011 as part of the prisoner exchange agreement known as the "Loyalty to the Freedmen" (Shalit Agreement), but was recaptured in 2014.

Today (Saturday), Nael al-Barghouthi will be released as part of the "Storm of the Freedmen" agreement, but will be deported from Palestine. The Prisoners' Affairs Information Office announced that the Israeli intelligence agency has prevented Nael al-Barghouthi's wife from traveling to Egypt to welcome him.

Another prominent prisoner to be released today is Abdul Nasser Issa, one of the most important founders of the Al-Qassam Brigades in the West Bank, who spent more than 32 years of his life in Israeli prisons and was sentenced to 2 life sentences and 7 additional years.

Hamza Al-Kalouti, a commander of the Al-Qassam Brigades who was arrested in 2000, will also be released today.

Among those released in the seventh phase of the prisoner exchange are Othman Bilal, a commander of the Al-Qassam Brigades, and Ammar Al-Zain, who was sentenced to 26 life sentences.

At the same time, it is expected that Hussam Abu Safia, the head of Kamal Adwan Hospital in northern Gaza, will also be released today.

The Israeli regime arrested Hussam Abu Safia at the end of last year after carrying out a criminal operation against Kamal Adwan, the last active hospital in northern Gaza.
