Tokyo plans to accept Gaza residents who need medical treatment during the Israeli attacks and provide an opportunity for Palestinians living in the area to be able to enroll in Japanese universities.

According to Kyodo News Agency, the Japanese Prime Minister announced that his government is considering providing medical assistance in Japan to residents of the Gaza Strip.

Shigeru Ishiba said at a meeting of the House of Representatives Budget Committee members, referring to the crisis prevailing in the strip: "We are trying to find ways to accept the sick and wounded from the Gaza Strip in Japan."

The Japanese Prime Minister also told the House of Representatives Budget Committee members that Tokyo is trying to launch a special program in which the country's universities can offer opportunities for Gaza students to study in Japan.

Ishiba made the remarks in response to a question from Japanese lawmakers about Japan's readiness to help the people of Gaza, who have been in crisis due to Israeli attacks.

Kyodo added that last month, the Japanese prime minister pledged during a meeting with Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim that Tokyo would facilitate aid to Palestine.
