Another Zionist soldier commits suicide due to “psychological problems”

The Hebrew newspaper Haaretz reported that a Zionist soldier committed suicide on Tuesday after opening fire on himself inside a military base in the northern occupied territories, bringing the number of Israeli soldiers who have died since the start of the Gaza war to 61.

Earlier, the occupying army said in a statement that a soldier had been seriously wounded by gunfire at a military base in northern Israel and was transferred to hospital before later succumbing to his injuries.

The army added that the military police have launched an investigation into the incident.

On October 28, an official Hebrew report published by the Knesset Research and Information Center revealed that since the beginning of 2024, 279 soldiers have attempted suicide.

According to the report, which was prepared at the request of Knesset member Ofer Cassif, these attempts occurred between January 2024 and July 2025, with an average of seven suicide attempts for every death by suicide.
