A Year of genocide allegations: Gaza under siege in 2025

Throughout 2025, the Zionist regime continued its criminal policies with the support of Western countries, despite repeated condemnations by international institutions of these crimes and their continuation.

The ongoing war and genocide in Gaza in 2025 led to the registration of extensive accusations against the Zionist regime for war crimes and genocide.

Reports by the United Nations and human rights organizations have described the actions of the Zionist regime as including mass killings, a humanitarian blockade, and the destruction of infrastructure. Each of these reports has examined key crimes based on credible documentation.

Mass killing and widespread harm to civilians

In 2025, Zionist forces killed or seriously injured thousands of Palestinian civilians through military operations. This has been recognized as one of the four acts constituting genocide under the 1948 Genocide Convention.

These actions continued up to the October 10 ceasefire and even afterward, including extensive bombardments that resulted in the killing of more than 70,000 people by December 2025. Numerous reports have detailed how these crimes were carried out—crimes many of which are unprecedented in the world.

Total blockade and the deliberate creation of famine conditions

Throughout 2025, the Zionist regime imposed a total blockade on Gaza, blocking the entry of humanitarian aid and imposing living conditions designed to lead to the physical destruction of Palestinians, including a famine declared by the United Nations in August 2025. As a result of this famine, at least 461 people suffering from malnutrition were killed.

This blockade, which continued from the beginning of 2025 until the ceasefire (and to some extent even after), reduced aid entry to 107 trucks per day—below pre-2023 levels.

Destruction of Gaza’s health and education systems

In 2025, the Zionist regime deliberately and systematically destroyed Gaza’s health and education systems. The occupying regime pursued this objective through widespread attacks on medical and educational facilities, targeting staff and essential infrastructure necessary for survival.

According to reports, only 16 to 19 of Gaza’s 36 hospitals remain partially operational, most of which lack the capacity to treat chronic illnesses or complex injuries.

Meanwhile, more than 90 to 97 percent of Gaza’s schools and universities have been damaged or destroyed, with 91.8 percent requiring full or major reconstruction.

These attacks—including bombardment, arson, and deliberate demolition—have deprived more than 658,000 children of education. A UN commission of inquiry has described this as part of cultural genocide and a crime against humanity, affecting future generations of Palestinians.

Systematic sexual and gender-based violence

An independent UN commission of inquiry confirmed that systematic sexual and gender-based violence by Zionist forces in 2025 constituted part of genocidal acts, including the direct targeting of women and children.

These actions, along with disregard for rulings of the International Court of Justice, demonstrate an intent to destroy the Palestinian group.

Attacks on religious and cultural sites

Throughout 2025, the Zionist regime carried out systematic and widespread attacks on Gaza’s religious and cultural sites, as part of a broader pattern aimed at erasing Palestinian identity.

These attacks, which continued throughout the year, were accompanied by dehumanizing statements from Zionist leaders, such as promises to flatten Gaza and turn it into “hell.”

Prevention of births and forced displacement

The actions of the Zionist occupying regime included the imposition of measures intended to prevent births among Palestinians, such as the destruction of hospitals and the creation of famine conditions affecting pregnant women.

In addition, support by Zionist leaders for plans to forcibly expel all Palestinians from Gaza, coupled with the near-total destruction of residential housing, has been classified as genocide.
