The need to modernize production lines in mining extraction
In an interview with Mizan, Mahmoud Khavari Daneshvar stated: “Modernizing production lines in industrial and mining extraction and processing equipment with advanced models leads to significant savings in energy and raw material consumption. Focusing on modern technologies such as the Internet of Things (IoT) in production lines and Artificial Intelligence (AI) in exploration and mineral reserve management enables real-time monitoring and optimization of operational parameters. In the industrial sector, installing advanced sensors on critical equipment (pumps, compressors, turbines) provides predictive maintenance capabilities. Instead of replacing parts based on a fixed timetable, replacement is carried out according to data analysis of vibration, temperature, and pressure—maximizing the lifespan of components and preventing unexpected shutdowns.”
He added: “In the mining sector, the use of artificial intelligence and machine learning (ML) in interpreting seismic and magnetic exploration data increases the accuracy of locating deposits and reduces the costs of ineffective exploratory drilling. Moreover, optimization algorithms for extraction routes in open-pit mines—such as shortest-path algorithms or 3D modeling of wall slopes—ensure efficient and optimal extraction.”
