Israel admits exaggerating damage to Iran’s missile program
The Times of Israel reported today, Friday, that Tel Aviv has now concluded that it overstated the damage caused to Iran’s missile program during the 12-day war.
The Israeli outlet, citing claims that the Islamic Republic of Iran currently possesses around 2,000 heavy ballistic missiles, noted that this number is roughly the same as Iran had before the conflict began in June.
According to the report, Shlomi Binder, head of Israeli military intelligence, shared this information earlier this week with Mike Waltz, the U.S. ambassador to the United Nations.
A few days prior, a senior Israeli military representative had also warned lawmakers in a closed session of the Knesset’s Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee that, six months after the 12-day war, Iran had resumed large-scale production of ballistic missiles.
This comes despite Israeli officials having previously sought to reinforce the narrative that the 12-day conflict had weakened the Islamic Republic of Iran’s power.
