Israel admits 22,000 soldiers wounded in Gaza war

According to Al Mayadeen, Israel’s Ministry of Internal Security announced that since the launch of the “Al-Aqsa Storm” operation in Gaza, 22,000 Israeli officers and soldiers have been injured, 58 percent of whom are suffering from anxiety and psychological disorders.

The ministry further stated that by the end of 2026, an additional 10,000 wounded personnel are expected to be added to this figure, most of whom will be suffering from psychological trauma.

In this context, about a month ago, Israeli army radio also reported that since the start of the Gaza war on October 7, 2023, at least 1,152 Israeli soldiers have been killed, around 42 percent of whom were under the age of 21.

According to the same report, more than 6,000 additional Israeli soldiers have also been wounded during this period, many of whom have suffered severe physical or psychological injuries.

The report adds that these figures reflect the intensity of the fighting and the high level of casualties sustained by the Israeli army in a war that began on October 7, 2023, with the stated objective of destroying Hamas.
