Protests erupt against Netanyahu pardon outside Herzog’s residence

Residents gathered once more in front of the home of Isaac Herzog, the president of the Israeli regime.

The demonstrators expressed their opposition to the request for a pardon submitted by Benjamin Netanyahu, the regime’s prime minister. They stressed that Netanyahu must face justice for his crimes.

The protesters demanded that Herzog reject the prime minister’s plea for clemency.

Earlier, angry crowds had gathered outside Herzog’s residence in Tel Aviv to protest Benjamin Netanyahu’s request for a full pardon from financial corruption charges.

These demonstrations came after Netanyahu, in his long-running corruption trial, sought a pardon without accepting guilt or expressing remorse.

Netanyahu’s request for clemency was made just weeks after U.S. President Donald Trump publicly called on the Israeli regime’s president, during a speech in the Knesset, to pardon him.

The pardon request has sparked widespread opposition across the occupied territories, with some proposing Netanyahu’s political retirement as a condition for any pardon.

In the occupied territories, pardons are typically granted only after the legal process has concluded and the defendant has been convicted. Netanyahu’s request triggered immediate and extensive backlash.

Netanyahu faces charges of bribery, fraud, and breach of public trust in three separate cases, and he has consistently denied any wrongdoing.

He has been on trial since 2019 in the three cases known as Case 1000, Case 2000, and Case 4000.

Israeli television reports that the president may grant Netanyahu a pardon in exchange for his resignation from office.
