Rebuilding Iranian missile damage stalled in Occupied Territories

An Israeli newspaper has reported that five months after the war with Iran, the reconstruction of damaged buildings in the occupied territories has nearly come to a halt, leaving thousands of people in limbo due to administrative delays and a severe labor shortage.

The Israeli daily Yedioth Ahronoth wrote on Monday that, five months after the war with Iran, dozens of buildings damaged by Iranian missile strikes are still awaiting reconstruction and remain in a suspended state, with no restoration work yet underway.

According to the newspaper, the Contractors Association in the occupied territories says the Israeli Tax Authority has significantly delayed the review and approval of cost proposals—delays that have prevented reconstruction projects from even beginning.

Contractors who spoke with Yedioth stressed that if the Israeli cabinet continues to stall—combined with the ongoing shortage of labor in the industrial sector—many companies and contractors have already reached their maximum capacity.

The report adds that some contractors have decided to stop accepting reconstruction orders for damaged buildings—not out of indifference, but “due to complete despair toward the cabinet” and their inability to continue working under current pressures.
