Mahmoud Khavari Daneshvar in an interview with Mizan:

Mining will become a knowledge-based industry in the future

An industry and mining expert emphasized that the future of mining will be a knowledge-based, creativity-driven industry, and stressed the need for Iran to take bold steps in this direction.

Mohammad Khavari Daneshvar told Mizan: "The increasing importance of technology in mining is not something that can be ignored. We believe that the future of the country’s mining industry will be shaped precisely by these technologies and innovative approaches. The future of mining is no longer merely about excavation. Transforming the mining sector into a creative industry essentially means shifting from resource extraction to the production of knowledge and advanced materials. Today, our real value lies in our ability to perform complex processing, produce specialized alloys, and apply artificial intelligence in exploration. Achieving this requires a complete paradigm shift. This shift comes with prerequisites that both the government and the private sector must address."

Daneshvar continued: "We emphasize that this transformation requires long-term investment, not just short-term projects. From the private sector side, we must embrace risk-taking in research and development (R&D). From the government side, effective support is a crucial factor. This includes tax incentives for green and smart technologies, and, most importantly, facilitating the transfer of technical knowledge from universities to factories. If we do not build a knowledge-driven infrastructure today, tomorrow we will remain mere exporters of raw materials."
