Grossi: The Agency seeks full engagement with Iran
Rafael Grossi, the IAEA Director General, said on Tuesday, November 24, that the Agency seeks complete interaction with Iran in order to resume inspection activities in the country.
Speaking in Manila, the capital of the Philippines, Grossi stated: “We want to restore cooperation with Iran to resume inspection operations at nuclear facilities.”
Recently, in another anti-Iran move, the IAEA Board of Governors approved the draft resolution proposed by the European troika and Washington regarding Iran’s nuclear issue.
The resolution was passed with 19 votes in favor, 3 against, and 12 abstentions. It claims that Iran must immediately and fully cooperate on its nuclear sites, which have been targeted by the United States and the Israeli regime.
Earlier, Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmail Baghaei commented on the approval of this resolution, saying: “The recent resolution undermines the Agency’s independence and was neither designed nor presented with goodwill. Its content is a stain on the initiators and authors, as it makes not even the smallest reference to the root of the issue — the joint aggression by the United States and the Israeli regime against Iran’s peaceful nuclear facilities.”
