Germany bans activities of an Islamic organization

Germany’s Interior Ministry has announced a ban on the activities of the Islamist organization Muslim Interactive and ordered the confiscation of its assets.

In a statement issued on Wednesday, the ministry declared that the newly established Islamic group Muslim Interactive is now officially prohibited from operating in the country.

As part of a broader investigation, German authorities also conducted searches at other Islamic organizations, including seven buildings in Hamburg and twelve locations in Berlin and Hesse.

According to a report by Deutsche Welle, German officials claim the group had called for a global caliphate and engaged in activities against Jews. Berlin has classified Muslim Interactive as an extremist organization.

German Interior Minister Alexander Dobrindt said:

“Berlin will act with full force against anyone who calls for a caliphate in our streets, incites hatred against Israel and Jews in an intolerable way, or degrades the rights of women and minorities.”

The group, which has around 19,000 followers on social media platforms such as TikTok and YouTube, has publicly expressed support for Germany’s constitution while rejecting any government interference in its interpretation of Islam.

Tensions between the German government and the country’s Muslim community have risen since Berlin voiced strong support for Israel following the outbreak of the Gaza war in October 2023.

Founded in 2020, Muslim Interactive has been primarily active on social media and has also organized public gatherings and rallies.
