Israel received body of high-ranking officer

The body of the most senior Israeli military officer captured by Hamas on October 7 has been handed over to the Israeli regime.

The Hebrew daily Yedioth Ahronoth reported that the remains of Asaf Hamami, commander of the Gaza Division of the Israeli army—who was captured by Hamas during Operation Al-Aqsa Flood on October 7, 2023—have been recovered and returned to Israel.

According to the report, the area where the general’s remains were found had previously been searched thoroughly by the Israeli army, but no bodies were discovered at the time.

Israel’s Channel 12 also reported that the Israeli army had been preparing to receive the body of at least one captured Israeli soldier.
