A ceasefire, Tel Aviv style: The quiet genocide in Gaza

The Zionist regime, which has a long record of violating ceasefires, has not exempted the Gaza ceasefire and on average is killing 10 Palestinians per day.

Since the ceasefire in Gaza, the Zionist regime has continued actions amounting to genocide against Palestinians—albeit in a quieter and more systematic manner.

This approach includes daily violations of the ceasefire through limited shelling that, every few days, escalates into large-scale attacks on civilians in refugee centers, homes, and tents.

Since the ceasefire agreement came into effect on 10 October, the occupation army has pursued a policy of gradual escalation, alternating between intermittent strikes and waves of mass killing.

Since the ceasefire, 219 Palestinians (including 85 children) have been killed—an average of 10 killed per day—and about 600 others wounded (roughly 28 wounded per day). These high rates indicate that the Zionist regime has not stopped the systematic slaughter that began more than two years ago.

Alongside daily shelling and shooting, the occupation army carried out two major attacks: one on 19 October, which killed 47 Palestinians, including 20 children and 6 women; and another on 28–29 October, which killed 110 Palestinians, including 46 children and 20 women.

Artillery fire, shooting, and the demolition of buildings have continued in recent days, especially in the eastern neighborhoods of Khan Yunis and Gaza City.

These actions suggest the Zionist regime is consolidating a new reality, allowing itself to conduct continuous military operations in areas it controls—covering roughly 50 percent of Gaza—effectively placing those areas outside the ceasefire framework while engaging in operations aimed at destroying livelihoods and future survivability.

Field reports have recorded Israeli army movements in Jabalia camp in northern Gaza, including the placement of yellow concrete blocks as warnings—measures that sparked a fresh wave of displacement and affected hundreds of residents and displaced people who were attempting to resume normal life in an almost completely devastated environment.

Field observations during the large-scale attacks of 28–29 October recorded dozens of indiscriminate, disproportionate strikes that reflect a clear pattern of revenge, collective punishment, and ongoing genocide.

Attacks continued in the Al-Amal neighborhood, Yarmouk Street, and the Al-Bureij, Al-Nuseirat, and Deir al-Balah camps, leveling homes and turning school shelters into mass graves.

These crimes are not isolated incidents but represent an intentional pattern indicating a political and military intent to undermine the ceasefire through intermittent killings, continued military aggression, and the risk of genocide amid international silence and political complicity.

There is now evidence of a plan to redraw Gaza’s geographic map—effectively separating east from west and severing large southern (Rafah) and northern areas (Beit Hanoun, Beit Lahia, and parts of Jabalia camp)—creating red and yellow zones in which, with U.S. backing, the Zionist regime would have full authority to target and destroy.

This partition would, in effect, eliminate Gaza’s geographic unity, render vast areas uninhabitable, and force the population toward compulsory displacement as the only means of survival.

Targeting tents, schools sheltering displaced people, and the killing of children, women, and journalists constitute flagrant violations of the four Geneva Conventions of 1949 and demonstrate an intent to maximize casualties and terrorize civilians.

The international community’s persistent silence and the failure to activate accountability mechanisms effectively give the Zionist regime a green light to continue mass killings and to commence a new stage of slow genocide intended to end the Palestinian presence in Gaza.
