Five more arrested in Louvre heist scandal

Following the confession of two previously detained suspects, French police apprehended five more individuals related to the $102 million Louvre jewelry heist.

According to the Russia Today network, the Paris prosecutor announced that despite these arrests, the stolen jewelry has not yet been recovered and remains missing.

The jewelry, valued at over $100 million, was stolen last week from the museum considered the most visited in the world. Four thieves carried out the theft in broad daylight using electric tools to enter the building.

French media had earlier reported the arrest of two individuals linked to the robbery, which has drawn intense attention from both local and international outlets.

The French Minister of Justice has also admitted that the museum’s security measures failed, creating what he called a disastrous image of the country.
