Another journalist’s voice silenced in Gaza
In a statement released early Wednesday, the office confirmed that al-Munirawi and his wife were killed during Israeli airstrikes targeting the Nuseirat refugee camp.
The statement strongly condemned the ongoing systematic targeting and assassination of Palestinian journalists by the Israeli occupation forces, describing it as a war crime and a flagrant violation of all international laws and conventions that guarantee the protection of journalists during armed conflicts.
According to the statement, the continued killing of journalists reflects a deliberate Israeli policy aimed at silencing the voice of truth and concealing the crimes committed in Gaza.
The Government Media Office called on the International Federation of Journalists, the Federation of Arab Journalists, and all global media organizations to condemn these crimes and take immediate action to stop them and hold those responsible accountable.
It further held the Israeli occupation regime, the U.S. government, and its allies — including the United Kingdom, Germany, and France — fully responsible for these heinous crimes against Palestinian journalists and media workers.
The statement concluded by urging the international community, human rights organizations, and press freedom bodies to exert serious and effective pressure to end the killings and assassinations of journalists in Gaza, ensure their safety, and bring the leaders of the Israeli regime before the International Criminal Court for prosecution.-
