Fuel and gas trucks enter Gaza for the first time in 10 months
After months of obstruction by the occupying regime, a small number of fuel and gas trucks entered Gaza through the Kerem Shalom crossing in the south, which is under Israeli control. The entry follows the ceasefire that took effect on Friday.
According to Anadolu Agency, these trucks were allowed in as part of the ceasefire terms. Over the past two months, Israel had allowed an average of 60 to 70 aid trucks and a limited number of goods trucks to enter Gaza daily — but no fuel or gas had been included among them.
Earlier, an official committee affiliated with the Palestinian government in Gaza published a list of eligible recipients for cooking gas, aimed at organizing its distribution across the provinces.
The distribution of cooking gas began today (Monday), with each person allowed to receive 8 kilograms (one cylinder) of gas for 60 shekels (approximately $18.33).
Since the complete closure of border crossings by Israel on March 2, 2024 — two weeks before the collapse of the previous ceasefire — Palestinians in Gaza have been deprived of access to both cooking gas and fuel.
