Israeli citizen arrested on suspicion of collaborating with Iran
According to these reports, the Israeli security authorities detained the individual in the Dead Sea area.
The Israeli police and Shin Bet (Shabak), Israel’s internal security agency, arrested the Israeli citizen on suspicion of carrying out security missions for Iranian entities.
The Hebrew website Ynet reported on Friday that police arrested a worker at a Dead Sea hotel on suspicion of performing duties and gathering images for Iran.
Citing a joint statement from the police and Shin Bet, the website stated that a 23-year-old Israeli citizen working at a hotel in the Dead Sea, suspected of collecting information under the supervision of Iranian officials, was arrested.
The statement also claimed that investigations revealed the individual had been in contact with Iranian intelligence authorities for some time and had carried out security-related tasks, including gathering information and photographing the hotel and its surroundings for them.
Recently, arrests of this kind have been on the rise in the occupied territories.
