Head of the Judiciary: Enemies have devised complex plans to undermine “Security,” “Livelihood,” and “Culture and Social Norms”

The head of the judiciary said: “Three key issues—security, livelihood, and culture and social norms—are priorities for every society and community; our enemies have devised complex and diverse plans to strike at these important pillars.”

According to the Judiciary’s Media Center, Mohseni Ejei, speaking today (Monday, September 22) at a meeting of the Supreme Council of the Judiciary, commemorated Sacred Defense Week and stated: “The sacrifice, cohesion, and national unity we displayed during both the eight-year imposed war and the 12-day Sacred Defense changed global equations and elevated the status of the Iranian nation and system in the eyes of the world. Through perseverance and resilience, our nation redefined doctrines of defense and resistance against oppressors. The 12-day war and subsequent events proved to everyone, even those who believed in trusting the U.S., that the arrogant powers cannot be trusted. Today, they openly admit that the U.S. is unreliable, and that the Zionist regime is a malignant cancer that spares no one.”

Expounding on the recent “criteria-based amnesty,” Ejei expressed his gratitude to the Supreme Leader for approving the proposal, and also thanked individuals in various institutions—including the parliament, government, and the Secretariat of the Supreme National Security Council—who supported the initiative, as well as Friday Prayer leaders, especially Tehran’s Imam of Friday Prayer. He also extended thanks to national and local media for their role. He emphasized that this amnesty covers not only eligible prisoners but all qualified convicts, including those sentenced to fines or other penalties. Eligible individuals may benefit from reduced sentences or release. He called on the Amnesty Commission to prioritize prisoner cases with greater urgency.

Ejei further urged pardoned convicts to avoid relapsing into crime, warning that future opportunities for clemency would become difficult otherwise. He also called on their families to carefully support them.

The judiciary chief praised the efforts of all institutions working toward improving livelihoods and security, and called on relevant bodies to combat anti-cultural activities.

He warned: “Enemies aim to apply pressure on the economy and people’s livelihood to create dissatisfaction, while simultaneously attacking our religious and national values, ultimately seeking to generate insecurity. We must remain vigilant. All responsible institutions—including the three branches of power, security and law enforcement forces, and other relevant bodies—must stand against and neutralize these complex conspiracies.”

Ejei urged the government to intensify efforts to ensure people’s livelihood and preserve values, stressing that essential goods must be offered at prices consistent with people’s purchasing power, as legal frameworks already exist for this.

He also called for firm action against profiteers and hoarders, saying: “Institutions must cooperate in identifying and confronting profiteers of essential goods. Preventive measures must be prioritized over reactive ones. The same principle applies to those seeking to create psychological or physical insecurity or carry out anti-cultural actions—they must be preempted, and if they act, confronted firmly and lawfully.”

In another part of his remarks, Ejei congratulated Iran’s national freestyle and Greco-Roman wrestling teams for their victories at the World Championships in Croatia, praising the athletes’ achievements and sportsmanship, which brought joy to the nation and raised the flag of the Islamic Republic on the world stage.

He also marked the upcoming reopening of schools and universities, noting: “Seminaries, universities, and schools are responsible for educating the country’s future leaders. At a time when enemies are promoting anti-cultural narratives contrary to our religious teachings, these institutions must nurture a generation that safeguards and strengthens our religious teachings and social norms.”
