The United Nations Office of Human Rights in the Occupied Territories has reported that 75 Palestinians have been killed in Israeli prisons since the start of Operation Al-Aqsa Storm.

According to Al Jazeera, the UN Office of Human Rights in the Occupied Territories stated that, from the beginning of Operation Al-Aqsa Storm until the end of August this year, at least 75 Palestinians lost their lives in Israeli detention centers. Of these, 49 were from the Gaza Strip, 24 from the West Bank, and 2 were Palestinians residing within the 1948 borders of Israel.

The UN Office of Human Rights called on Israeli authorities to immediately end systematic torture and mistreatment of Palestinian prisoners. The office described the detention conditions and mistreatment of Palestinians as deliberate, holding Tel Aviv responsible for the deaths of detainees.

The UN report stated that by denying the International Committee of the Red Cross access, Israel has fostered a culture of impunity. The report also documented systematic use of torture by Tel Aviv, including continuous beatings, waterboarding, sexual violence, and inhumane conditions such as deprivation of food, clean clothing, and medical care.

The UN described these actions as clear violations of international humanitarian law and emphasized that such mistreatment could amount to war crimes or crimes against humanity. The organization stressed the urgent need to end the occupiers’ actions against prisoners and to protect detainees.
