Brother of martyred Iranian scientist: The blood of the martyrs will prove truth and justice
After the assassination of the son of Mohammadreza Sadeghi Saber, an Iranian scientist, his family took refuge in their hometown of Astaneh Ashrafieh for the funeral ceremony. However, at midnight on the 3rd of Tir 1404 (June 23, 2025), exactly at the same time as the announcement of the ceasefire, the residential area where they lived was bombarded.
In this attack, 15 people, including all the members of the Sadeghi Saber family, were martyred and dozens of others were wounded. This action was a clear example of the Zionist regime’s deliberate policy of destroying families and intimidating Iran’s scientific community.
Alireza Sadeghi Saber, the brother of the martyred scientist Dr. Mohammadreza Sadeghi Saber, who, along with all members of his family, was martyred in the Zionist regime’s insane attack on Astaneh Ashrafieh, was one of the martyr families present at the Human Rights Council.
Holding pictures of the Sadeghi family, he addressed the international community and said:
“At midnight on Monday, June 23, 2025, and in the final hours of the aggression of the Israeli regime and the United States against the Iranian nation, a residential house in the city of Astaneh Ashrafieh was subjected to a criminal attack. In this brutal aggression, three missiles struck the residential home of a grandfather and grandmother, as a result of which this house and all neighboring residential houses, as you can see in the photos, were completely destroyed, and 15 ordinary citizens were martyred. The intensity of the explosion was such that some of the bodies were torn into pieces, and in addition, many residential buildings up to a radius of about 700 meters suffered serious damage.”
The text of this speech is as follows:
In the Name of God
On behalf of the bereaved families of the martyrs of the criminal attack of the Zionist regime against the soil of the Islamic Republic of Iran during twelve days, in which we lost our loved ones in defense of the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the country, and especially on behalf of the families of the martyrs of the horrific crime in Astaneh Ashrafieh, I speak to you.
At midnight on Monday, June 23, 2025, and in the final hours of the aggression of the Israeli regime and the United States against the Iranian nation, a residential house in the city of Astaneh Ashrafieh was subjected to a criminal attack. In this brutal aggression, three missiles struck the residential home of a grandfather and grandmother, as a result of which this house and all neighboring residential houses, as you can see in the photos, were completely destroyed, and 15 ordinary citizens were martyred.
The intensity of the explosion was such that some of the bodies were torn into pieces, and in addition, many residential buildings up to a radius of about 700 meters suffered serious damage. This elegy is the cry for justice of mothers who have been deprived of embracing their children, the cry of wives who have lost the support and companion of their lives, and the call of children who will never again feel the warmth of their fathers’ embrace. My words narrate the pain of a people who, once again, under the umbrella of silence and structural indifference of the international community, have become victims of aggression and state terrorism.
The Israeli regime, by flagrantly and repeatedly violating the fundamental principles of the UN Charter, international human rights law, and humanitarian law, through its attacks on the soil of an independent and UN member state, has committed war crimes and crimes against humanity.
Our question to the representatives of the member states of the Human Rights Council, as the highest body responsible for the protection and promotion of human rights, is this:
- How much more blood must be shed before the sleeping conscience of international organizations awakens?
- How many more families must be bereaved before the global community understands the true meaning of aggression?
- Has the time not come to replace beautiful but ineffective slogans with decisive and practical measures against these violators of peace and regional stability?
We, the families of the martyrs, demand your immediate and decisive action:
1. The immediate and unconditional condemnation of this blatant aggression and the crimes of the Israeli regime by the Human Rights Council and the UN General Assembly.
2. The prosecution of the perpetrators and commanders of the Israeli regime in international courts.
3. Compensation for the material and spiritual damages inflicted on the victims of this brutal aggression, and comprehensive sanctions against the Zionist regime.
We call on all member states of the UN Human Rights Council not to remain silent in the face of this tyranny and to prevent the criminals from escaping international justice.
We believe in divine justice and are certain that the blood of the martyrs will prove truth and justice.
We are waiting for your urgent and practical action.
