Uncle of martyr in 12-Day War: No innocent child should ever be a victim of war, regardless of skin color, race, or nationality
Amir Ali Amini, a 12-year-old Taekwondo athlete from Iran, was killed along with his father in Mahallati Street, Tehran, in the early hours of Friday, June 13, 2025. Images of the young martyr were displayed at the UN Human Rights Council.
Ali Amini, the uncle of Amir Ali, attended the session at the UN Human Rights Council to seek justice for his brother and nephew. Holding a photo of Amir Ali, he said: “I lost my brother and my nephew—two citizens whose home was struck by Israeli missiles on the very first night of the attack without any prior warning. They were innocent and were killed.”
During Ali Amini’s speech, images of other children martyred in the 12-day imposed war were shown. He said: “This footage reflects the utmost innocence of children who lost their lives unjustly and were deprived of the most basic human right—the right to life.”
He added: “We expect that these cases will not remain invisible to human rights laws and mechanisms, and that in the future, no innocent child, regardless of skin color, race, or nationality, will ever become a victim of war.”
Full text of Ali Amini’s speech:
Honorable attendees,
Ladies and gentlemen,
My name is Ali Amini. In the recent 12-day aggression, I lost my brother and my nephew—two citizens whose home was struck by Israeli missiles on the very first night of the attack without any prior warning. They were innocent and were killed.
Amir Ali and his father were full of life, yet they lost their lives.
Like Amir Ali, many other children were martyred in this war.
This footage reflects the utmost innocence of children who lost their lives unjustly and were deprived of the most basic human right—the right to life.
We expect that these incidents will not remain hidden from human rights laws and mechanisms, and that in the future no innocent child, regardless of skin color, race, or nationality, will ever fall victim to war.
