The Chief of Staff of the army of the Zionist regime has told the regime’s political leaders in his assessments that even if a ground operation is carried out and the city of Gaza is completely occupied; the Hamas movement will not be defeated militarily or politically.

Channel 12 of the Zionist regime reported that Eyal Zamir, the regime’s Chief of Staff, emphasized in a secret meeting with Tel Aviv’s political leaders that the upcoming ground operation in Gaza City will not lead to a definitive outcome or complete victory.

He said the purpose of presenting this assessment is to align expectations between the army and the cabinet about the possible results of the operation.

Zamir noted that achieving a final victory would require expanding operations to other areas of the Gaza Strip, including major refugee camps — a step that could impose a heavy and challenging burden on the regime in the civilian sphere.

The newspaper Yedioth Ahronoth, citing informed sources, also reported that the Chief of Staff told a Knesset session there is uncertainty about the phases of the war and the post-war situation, and said he does not even know whether the cabinet intends to establish a military government in Gaza, because Benjamin Netanyahu, the Prime Minister of the occupying regime, has not shared details about the next stages with the military.

Zamir also spoke of the ineffectiveness of the humanitarian aid distribution system in Gaza and warned about the current military plan for Gaza City.

He stressed that carrying out the operation could endanger the lives of Israeli soldiers and the regime’s captives held by Hamas.
