Sheikh Zakzaky: Islamic countries must sever all ties with the Zionist regime

Sheikh Ibrahim Zakzaky, leader of the Islamic Movement of Nigeria, in an interview with Mizan, spoke about the growing wave of support for Palestine in Western countries and said: “In the West, people in general are rising up against the crimes of the Israeli regime in Gaza. The people of Western countries are standing up in support of the Palestinian people and against the atrocities being committed against them.”

Referring to Iran’s support for the resistance and the Palestinian nation, Sheikh Zakzaky stated: “Unfortunately, we do not see sufficient sympathy for the Palestinian people in other Islamic countries.”

He went on to stress the need for unity among Islamic countries in confronting the Zionist regime, saying: “The Zionist regime seeks to create division and discord among Muslims. Initiatives such as the Islamic Unity Conference in Tehran can help remove obstacles to solidarity and bring Muslims together as one united Ummah. We hope this will be realized in the near future.”

Pointing to Spain’s decision to close its airspace to aircraft of the Zionist regime, Sheikh Zakzaky said: “This is a beautiful gesture, and I hope that all European countries will take similar measures.”

He further emphasized the necessity of boycotting the Zionist regime by Islamic countries and severing all ties with it, stating: “Islamic countries must cut off all relations with the Zionist regime.”

Declaring that the Zionist regime is an occupying power, he said: “This regime has occupied Palestinian lands, claims them as its own, and continues to massacre the people there.”

Sheikh Zakzaky concluded: “It is expected that Islamic countries, first and foremost, sever all ties with the Zionist regime — and the time to do so has now arrived.”
