UNRWA warning: Gaza Strip is turning into a ruin
In a post on the social media platform X, UNRWA wrote: “The Gaza Strip is literally disappearing. It is turning into rubble and ruins, and its conditions are becoming increasingly unfit for human life.”
The UN agency stressed: “Children there are suffering from hunger. Families have been displaced. People are terrified.”
UNRWA pointed out that, in light of the ongoing large-scale Israeli attacks, political decision-making and willpower are needed now more than ever.
This UN warning comes as the number of Palestinian casualties from Israeli attacks continues to rise, Gaza’s infrastructure lies in ruins, and basic services have collapsed due to relentless bombardment. International aid organizations have repeatedly called for a ceasefire and the removal of obstacles to humanitarian access, warning that time is running out to prevent an even greater catastrophe.
