Trump’s exploitation of Charlie Kirk’s death

Charlie Kirk, one of the main supporters of the Gaza genocide in the United States and a key electoral partner of Trump, was killed while defending the crimes and brutality of the Israeli regime against Palestinians. Kirk’s assassination marks a clear signal of the world’s patience reaching its limit with supporters of evil.

American and European media, which brazenly portray the killing of tens of thousands of innocent Palestinian women and children as legitimate Israeli defense, are now stunned at the death of one of the “pieces” in this game of evil.

Trump’s statements regarding Charlie Kirk, however, reveal that, regardless of the reasons behind the assassination, he intends to use Kirk’s death as a political tool for the midterm elections.

Donald Trump, in a video message, blamed the media and “radical leftists” for Kirk’s death, claiming: "The media and radical leftists have demonized those who disagree with them, and their statements are directly responsible for the terrorism we see in our country."

By “radical leftists,” Trump refers to those who challenge the nature and actions of the Israeli regime in the Gaza war across the U.S. and call for an end to the Palestinian genocide. Trump views Kirk’s assassination as an opportunity to escalate his “labeling” game as a pretext to distract public attention from domestic and foreign policy crises.

Notably, Trump’s popularity in recent public polls has dropped to around 35%, the lowest since his return to the White House. On the other hand, Democrats have welcomed this decline and see it as a key advantage for their victory in the 2026 midterm elections.

True to his opportunistic approach to political and social developments, Trump intends to exploit Kirk’s corpse to the fullest for the benefit of the Republican Party. He will not let this opportunity pass easily.

His failures in the trade war with China, the Gaza conflict, confusion over Ukraine, and inability to deliver even minimal economic satisfaction domestically are all issues he needs to shift public focus away from. Kirk’s assassination provides the perfect pretext to redirect public attention and escalate a cognitive warfare campaign of scapegoating and labeling. In the coming days and months, this game will enter increasingly complex phases. Trump is not someone who will let this political opportunity slip away.
