Yemeni missile shuts down Ben Gurion Airport
According to Al Jazeera, the Israeli army, in a statement, claimed that a missile was launched from Yemen on Wednesday toward the occupied territories, but it was intercepted and destroyed by Israel’s air defense systems.
Meanwhile, Israeli media reported that Ben Gurion Airport’s airspace was shut down following the missile attack. They further claimed that the explosion images circulated in the occupied territories were the result of shrapnel from Israel’s interceptor missiles during the interception and destruction of the Yemeni missile.
The Israeli newspaper Yedioth Ahronoth also alleged that despite shrapnel from interceptor missiles falling to the ground in central occupied territories, no casualties were reported.
The Yemeni missile attack triggered sirens across wide areas of central occupied territories.
On Tuesday, the Yemeni army had already announced four operations using four drones against targets in the occupied territories.
Over recent months and weeks, Yemeni armed forces have launched dozens of missiles and drones toward occupied Palestine in response to Israel’s continued brutal crimes in Gaza and the massacre of innocent Palestinians.
The Yemeni army has vowed to continue striking Israeli vessels or ships bound for the occupied territories in the Red Sea until Israel halts its assaults on Gaza.
