Yemen’s prime minister martyred in Israeli aggression

On Saturday, August 30, the Yemeni Presidency issued a statement confirming the martyrdom of the Prime Minister as a result of Israel’s attack on Sanaa.

The statement reads:

“In the midst of the all-out battle with the Israeli regime, we announce to our people and the Islamic Ummah the martyrdom of a number of national leaders.

Ahmad Ghaleb al-Rahwi, Prime Minister of the Government of Change and Construction, along with several cabinet ministers, was martyred in last Thursday’s Israeli attack.

The Israeli regime deliberately targeted the Prime Minister and members of his cabinet while they were holding a practical workshop to assess the government’s activities and performance.

A number of ministers were also injured in this latest act of aggression, with some suffering moderate injuries and others in critical condition under intensive care.

To the great people of Yemen, we assure you—and renew our pledge—that the government, with God’s help, will continue to fulfill its role in advancing the nation’s affairs.

State institutions will persist in serving the steadfast, patient, and struggling people of Yemen. No matter the magnitude of this tragedy, it will never halt the continuation of services.

The blood of these great martyrs will be a driving force and inspiration to carry on this path.

We assure our people, the oppressed people of Palestine, the entire Islamic Ummah, and all the free people of the world that we remain committed to our principled stance in supporting and backing the people of Gaza.

We will also continue strengthening our armed forces and enhancing their capabilities to confront all challenges and dangers, just as the great people of Yemen continue to stand firm on all fronts.”
