The role of knowledge-based companies in the country’s wood and paper industry
In his interview with Mizan, Dr. Ghasem Mohammadi stated: “One cannot imagine a dynamic industry such as wood and paper without the use of modern methods and innovations in data processing, research and development, and implementation. Accordingly, I deeply believe in the role of knowledge-based companies in this field, and we make use of their capacities and guidance in the path toward quantitative and qualitative improvement of our activities. This cooperation can lead to better efficiency, reduced costs, improved product quality, and the development of new products. One of these areas is the optimization of production processes. In this regard, knowledge-based companies can implement advanced and intelligent automation systems (such as artificial intelligence and the Internet of Things) to enable more precise control of production processes, from the beginning to the final stage of paper production. This can result in reduced waste and increased production speed.”
This industry expert and manager in the field of wood and paper further added: “By utilizing modern technologies, energy consumption in wood and paper factories can be significantly reduced. For instance, smart energy management systems can optimize electricity and heat usage. Moreover, knowledge-based companies can collaborate in research and development to produce papers with special features (such as water-resistant papers, security papers, or papers with electronic capabilities). Another important target that requires special attention is optimizing logistics and transportation of raw materials and final products through the use of advanced software developed by knowledge-based companies.”
