Despite objections from several ministers to the government’s policy on the Gaza war, the Dutch Parliament has declined to impose sanctions on the Zionist regime or to recognize the State of Palestine.

According to Anadolu, Dutch lawmakers convened on Saturday to discuss developments in the Middle East, but refrained from adopting measures such as banning Israeli products or halting arms purchases from the regime.

Although some opposition party lawmakers supported action against Israel, their proposals failed to secure the necessary backing for approval.

One of the demands of certain parliamentarians was the recognition of an independent State of Palestine, but this was also rejected.

Nevertheless, members of parliament called on the Zionist regime to allow journalists and observers access to Gaza.

The parliamentary session was held after Dutch Foreign Minister Caspar Veldkamp and eight other cabinet members resigned, citing the rejection of their proposals to take action against Israel.

Among their demands were sanctions on products from illegal Israeli settlements and a halt to arms purchases from the regime.
