Venezuela orders general mobilization to counter U.S. threats
Speaking at a rally, Maduro announced the nationwide mobilization, saying the force would include all reservists and willing citizens, both men and women, prepared to stand against “imperialist threats.”
According to Sputnik News, he explained: “As Commander-in-Chief, I deemed it necessary and timely that on Saturday and Sunday a major census and public call-up be conducted for all paramilitary groups, all reserve forces, and all citizens who want to step forward and say ‘no’ to imperialist threats.”
Maduro added that military headquarters, armed units, central city squares, and nearly 16,000 civil defense bases across Venezuela will be used during this census and mobilization.
He further invited: “All paramilitaries, reserve forces, and anyone willing to join the ranks to support the national plan for sovereignty and peace—which has been underway for several weeks—are called to take part.”
