In an unprecedented move, a group of Israeli Air Force officers have been removed from active service, sparking official complaints and public reactions.

Israeli newspaper Yedioth Ahronoth revealed today (Friday) that this occurred in recent months, with 15 Air Force officers dismissed for signing a petition protesting the continuation of attacks in Gaza.

According to the report, these officers were also slated to participate in operations against Iran, but after opposing the war and signing the petition, they were removed from service.

Yedioth Ahronoth further noted that the Israeli army attempted to persuade these officers to withdraw their signatures, but they stood firm, ultimately resulting in suspension from duty.

Following this action, 17 additional pilots joined the case and filed a petition with the Supreme Court to ensure that, if threatened with suspension, they would be allowed to return to service.

Amid Israel’s prolonged war against Gaza, physical and mental fatigue among Israeli military personnel has become a serious crisis. Both active and reserve soldiers have expressed concerns over exhaustion from continuous engagements, psychological pressures, and harsh combat conditions.

Reports indicate that approximately 12% of reserve soldiers exhibited significant symptoms of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) after serving in Gaza. Additionally, several personnel have reported severe psychological stress, constant fatigue, ongoing fear, and in some cases, have even resorted to suicide.
