Shutdown of U.S. fighter jet production lines following Boeing workers’ strike

More than 3,000 of Boeing’s workers and technicians in the U.S. went on strike, stopping the production of F-18 and F-15 fighter jets.

According to Reuters, the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers (IAM), linked to Boeing’s defense division, began the strike on August 4. This action has disrupted the company’s fighter jet production.

The strikers, numbering around 3,200 workers and technicians, are demanding improved pay conditions and retirement benefits.

They are calling for conditions similar to those granted last year to Boeing employees in Seattle.

Reports indicate that there is currently no plan to resume negotiations between the two sides to resolve the dispute.
