The Times of Israel, in a report acknowledging the unpopularity of the Monafeghin Terrorist Group (Mujahedin-e Khalq) among the Iranian public, has shed light on the extent of the terrorist group’s ties with Israel’s intelligence agency, Mossad.

The Times of Israel recently published a report on the connection between the Israeli intelligence service and the Monafeghin Terrorist Group, describing the group’s members as among the most despised individuals in Iran. The report noted that the Monafeghin continues to be a source of deep anger among Iranians, who regard the organization as traitorous, and that the terrorist group has virtually no popular support within Iran.

The outlet also acknowledged that the scope of cooperation between the Monafeghin Terrorist Group and Mossad goes far beyond what was previously assumed. U.S. officials have confirmed that the Monafeghin has been funded, trained, and armed by Israel’s secret service to target and assassinate Iranian scientists. The operational network of the organization has cooperated with Israel by providing coordinates of critical infrastructure, including sensitive security sites, weapons facilities, and research laboratories.

The Hebrew-language outlet further admitted that this cooperation dates back at least to 2002. During the recent war, this collaboration reached unprecedented levels of complexity.

The report also highlighted the Monafeghin Terrorist Group’s activities against Iran, including the establishment of operational safe houses in Tehran and engagement in propaganda and intelligence-gathering operations in support of Israeli objectives.

Times of Israel noted that the MOnafeghin has provided targeted data to Israel for high-profile assassinations. The outlet, citing Kevin Jon Heller, an international law expert, acknowledged that the Monafeghin’s actions constitute terrorism under international conventions.

Meanwhile, Israeli officials admitted that during the 12-day war, coordination between different units of the Israeli military heavily relied on the operational support of the Monafeghin Terrorist Group.

The report’s author also suggested that Israel should formally incorporate its relationship with the Monafeghin Terrorist Group into its official policy, transitioning from covert cooperation to a strategic partnership.

The report concluded that the Monafeghin’s approach aligns with the strategic objectives of the Israeli regime, but any public recognition of the Monafeghin by Israel would undoubtedly trigger significant negative reactions both within Iran and internationally.

This acknowledgment by the Hebrew media comes as part of the 36th session of the trial examining the Monafeghin’s collaboration with Israel during the 12-day imposed war.
