Assassination of a leader of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine in Lebanon

The PFLP stated that Abu Khalil Washah and one of his companions were assassinated by assassination squads of the Zionist regime in Lebanon.

Local Palestinian media reported early today about the assassination of the PFLP Central Committee member in Lebanon.

In this regard, the Palestinian Islamic Jihad movement issued an official statement expressing condolences for the martyrdom of Abu Khalil Washah and his companion Mufid Hassan, who were killed in an attack by the Zionist regime in eastern Lebanon.

The statement said: “The Zionist aggression confirms that the enemy has launched an open war against our people and resistance, and this act is a violation of Lebanon’s sovereignty.”

It emphasized: “We stress that these assassinations only increase the steadfastness and determination of the people and resistance forces to confront the enemy.”
