Human Rights Watch has reported that since the beginning of the Israeli regime’s assault on the Gaza Strip on October 7, 2023, more than 500 schools—many of which had been turned into shelters for displaced civilians—have been attacked.

According to Sama News, these attacks have deprived civilians of safe havens and that hundreds of civilians have been killed in the strikes. Almost every school in Gaza has suffered severe damage.

Human Rights Watch noted that this will cause long-term disruption to education in Gaza, as the reconstruction and repair of schools will require significant time and resources.

Meanwhile, the World Food Programme (WFP) warned that half a million people in Gaza are on the brink of famine.

The UN-affiliated agency added that over 320,000 children in Gaza are facing severe malnutrition.

WFP also stressed that one-third of Gaza’s population goes days without receiving any food.

At the same time, amid ongoing Israeli airstrikes on the Gaza Strip, Al-Awda Hospital in the Nuseirat refugee camp reported that it had admitted 16 wounded individuals in the past 24 hours, including 5 women and 8 children.

Al-Awda Hospital confirmed that the wounded were injured in attacks on various areas in central Gaza, and two of the injured were transferred to Al-Aqsa Hospital for further treatment.

Simultaneously, Palestinian media reported that Israeli air and artillery strikes targeted Shuja'iyya, Al-Zeitoun, and Al-Shati refugee camp in Gaza City, Al-Bureij and Nuseirat camps in central Gaza, and Khan Yunis in the south early Thursday morning.

In Nuseirat, an Israeli strike hit the Al-Jammal family home, killing a family of four: a father, mother, and two daughters.

An airstrike on Al-Shati refugee camp in western Gaza also killed four people and wounded several others.

In Khan Yunis, in southern Gaza, displaced persons' tents and the Sahloul family home were hit by Israeli artillery, resulting in multiple casualties and injuries.
