Revealed: UK spy planes secretly flying over Gaza to aid Israel
The Israeli outlet i24NEWS reported that British government sources told The Times that the UK armed forces continue to deploy surveillance aircraft over Gaza to assist Israel in finding “abducted Israelis.”
According to the report, Royal Air Force planes and other British forces stationed in the region have been providing intelligence to the Israeli military, offering real-time data on the movements of the kidnapped individuals.
The UK Ministry of Defence has declined to specify the type and number of aircraft involved in this operation. The mission coincides with Israel’s preparations to release its new war strategy for Gaza.
Citing flight-tracking data, i24NEWS said that British aircraft have conducted hundreds of missions over Gaza, the most recent occurring last month. These flights originate from the RAF Akrotiri air base in Cyprus.
The aircraft are equipped with advanced technology capable of monitoring vehicle movements, streets, residential buildings, and even tracking specific ground activities.
The UK Ministry of Defence has confirmed that “military flights over Gaza are ongoing,” although no Shadow R1 aircraft have been spotted in the area in recent days.
A source in the Royal Air Force said that available information indicates the Shadow planes have returned to the UK. However, it remains unclear which aircraft have replaced them for the surveillance missions. At the same time, the Ministry of Defence has yet to respond to whether Britain is now using leased aircraft from private companies for its secretive operations over Gaza.
