Zionist media reported that the Israeli regime evacuated its embassy staff in Greece after receiving information about large-scale protests planned in Athens in the coming days in support of the Palestinian people.

On Tuesday (yesterday), the Israeli regime removed its staff from its embassy in the Greek capital due to rising protests against the regime in Greece. The Zionist newspaper Israel Hayom reported that this move followed demonstrations against Israel’s war in Gaza.

The report noted that left-wing Greek activists are planning a “March to Gaza” on August 10, but gave no further details.

Quoting the statement of the movement organizing the protests, the newspaper wrote: “The people of Greece will not remain silent in the face of the genocide Israel is committing in Gaza with the support and complicity of the West and the Greek government.”

Anadolu Agency reported that neither Israeli nor Greek officials have issued an official statement on the status of the embassy staff.

On Tuesday, the Communist Party of Greece condemned remarks by Noam Katz, Israel’s ambassador to Athens, who had previously expressed concern over pro-Palestinian graffiti in Athens.

In a statement, the party said: “The audacity of the Israeli ambassador in Athens to make such comments stems not only from the fact that he represents a criminal state, but also because the Greek government, under the pretext of a strategic alliance with Israel, has become a key defender of the regime’s crimes against the Palestinian people.”
