Number of martyred palestinian prisoners rises to 75
The Palestinian Commission for Detainees and Ex-Detainees Affairs announced that Sayel Rajab Abu Nasr, a 60-year-old prisoner from the Gaza Strip, was martyred on January 21, 2025 in the prisons of the Israeli occupation.
With his death, the total number of registered martyrs among Palestinian prisoners since the beginning of the genocidal war on Gaza has reached at least 75.
The Palestinian resistance movement Hamas, in a statement confirming the martyrdom of Sayel Rajab Abu Nasr, declared: "The Zionist regime continues to torture and suppress our heroic prisoners in its jails. The martyrdom of Sayel Abu Nasr is yet another crime in the long black record of Israeli atrocities against prisoners and the sons of the Palestinian people."
The statement warned once again about the grave and dangerous conditions inside Israeli prisons, where detainees are deprived of the most basic necessities and rights — including water, food, and clothing — and where the occupation regime uses medical neglect as a tool for slow, deliberate killing.
Hamas further stated: "The inhumane conditions and the blatant violations of all international conventions and laws faced by our prisoners, demand that governments and nations around the world, along with all human rights organizations, raise their voices against the Zionist regime. They must take urgent action to stop its crimes and terrorist acts against our people and bring the officials of this fascist regime to justice without delay."
