Explosion destroys Israeli armored personnel carrier in Khan Yunis; 3 soldiers killed
Reports indicate that the number of Israeli soldiers killed in the incident has risen to three. Earlier, media outlets had reported a security event involving Israeli forces in the Gaza Strip.
During the incident, an Israeli army tank was targeted by resistance fighters using an improvised explosive device (IED).
As a result, several Israeli soldiers from the Golani Brigade were either killed or injured.
In the explosion of a sophisticated Namer armored personnel carrier belonging to the Israeli military, one officer and one soldier from the Golani Brigade were confirmed killed, with several others wounded — some in critical condition.
Resistance fighters, reportedly emerging from a tunnel, managed to approach the armored vehicle and attach an explosive device to it.
According to The Times of Israel, the Israeli army has officially released the names of 896 soldiers, officers, and reservists killed during the Gaza war.
Among them, 329 were killed along the Gaza border during resistance operations, and at least 452 were killed during Israel’s ground invasion of Gaza.
