Israeli army destroys thousands of tons of humanitarian aid for Gaza
Israeli television channel Kan reported this morning (Saturday) that the Israeli army has destroyed tens of thousands of relief items, including food and medicine, which were intended for the people of Gaza.
According to the report, the aid was equivalent to the cargo of 1,000 trucks and was destroyed before reaching the Gaza Strip.
Israeli military sources told Kan that “thousands of packages of humanitarian aid were left exposed under the sun, and if they are not transferred to Gaza, we will be forced to destroy them.”
These sources also claimed that a “breakdown in the aid distribution mechanism” inside Gaza was the reason behind the destruction of the packages.
This move comes as Gaza’s population of approximately 2.3 million is facing a critical hunger crisis. Famine, malnutrition, and a lack of basic living conditions have created a grim humanitarian situation in the region.
The destruction of such a large volume of aid amid this crisis has sparked global outrage and raised serious questions about Israel’s commitment to human rights principles.
