Albanese likens Israel to "Nazism"
Francesca Albanese, the UN Special Rapporteur on Gaza and the West Bank, reacted on her account on the platform "X" to the death of a disabled Palestinian in Gaza from starvation, comparing the Israeli regime’s insistence on starving 2 million people and killing children in the Gaza Strip to the crimes of the Nazis.
Albanese wrote: "Our generation was raised to believe Nazism was the ultimate evil — and it was, and its crimes must not be forgotten. But today, there exists Israel, backed by democracies and dictatorships alike, that is starving millions and shooting children for sport. This is a new abyss of barbarity. But how will we ever escape it?"
Furthermore, the UN Special Rapporteur on Palestine told Al Jazeera regarding the events in Gaza: "There is no word to describe what is happening in Gaza. Famine has reached its peak."
