Israeli army launches ground operation in Deir al-Balah

Hebrew media reported the beginning of the Israeli military’s ground assault in Deir al-Balah. Israel’s Channel 14 confirmed that the Golani Brigade has begun operations in this area.

In the early hours of Monday, Israeli occupation forces carried out a limited incursion into the eastern parts of Deir al-Balah. This marks the first ground operation in this region since the broader ground assault began in late October 2023. Israeli warplanes also launched heavy airstrikes and artillery bombardments, targeting several mosques and residential homes, resulting in numerous casualties and injuries.

Eyewitnesses told Al-Araby Al-Jadeed that many families were forced to flee in the early morning hours due to intense Israeli bombing in areas such as Abu Holi, east and west of Al-Baraka in Deir al-Balah, and regions near Al-Matahen.

According to witnesses, some families remain trapped in these areas amid heavy bombardments and intense firepower used by the occupation forces to restrict the movement of Palestinians.
