Discontent among occupied territories’ residents over prolonged power outages
Israeli media have reported that several days after the fire at the high-voltage power distribution equipment in the Sodom area of the southern district and widespread power outages in the Jerusalem (occupied al-Quds) area, since Friday, thousands of residents in the city of Holon, in the Tel Aviv district, have also been facing major blackouts.
According to these reports, since July 18, thousands of people in Holon have been without power, following previous outages caused by the fire in the Sodom area’s electrical infrastructure and the earlier power failures in occupied Jerusalem.
This situation comes despite the Israeli Electricity Company’s announcement last week that its experts were seeking solutions to quickly tackle and prevent such disruptions in the future.
Residents in these affected areas have voiced their frustration on social media, stating that not only have Israeli officials failed to find a solution to this ongoing crisis, but these incidents are increasingly spreading throughout the entire occupied territories.
