Death of Israeli soldier following suicide attempt

According to the Israeli Army Radio, a trained paratrooper who attempted to take his own life last week at a paratrooper brigade training base in the south of the occupied territories, has succumbed to his injuries.

The report stated that the soldier was in critical condition and had been receiving medical treatment at a hospital, but despite numerous efforts to save his life, the hospital was ultimately forced to declare his death.

With this incident, the number of Israeli soldiers who have taken their own lives over the past two weeks has risen to four.

Following more than 21 months of war in Gaza and the severe psychological impact it has had on Israeli soldiers, media outlets in the occupying regime are reporting a rise in suicides within the army.

Previously, the Hebrew-language website Walla reported that the wave of suicides among both active-duty soldiers and discharged personnel reflects the magnitude of a silent catastrophe unfolding away from the battlefield.

According to Walla, suicides within the Israeli army are on the rise, with 17 cases recorded in 2023, 21 cases in 2024, and 16 new cases already registered by mid-2025.

Walla further noted that reserve soldiers face numerous risks, including family breakdown, isolation, easy access to firearms, and untreated trauma from their experiences.
