Details of the Gaza ceasefire negotiations

Hebrew media reports indicate that the negotiating delegations of Hamas and the Israeli regime are discussing ending the war in Qatar.

A knowledgeable Israeli source stated that, for the first time, the Israeli regime is negotiating with Hamas about the possibility of ending the war.

According to Haaretz, these negotiations differ from previous talks that led to earlier agreements.

The Israeli official said: While previous agreements focused on prisoner releases, this agreement addresses the end of the war, and therefore, everything is interconnected. This is a very complex agreement.

According to the report, the proposed deal includes a 60-day ceasefire during which 10 living Israeli prisoners would be released, and intensive negotiations to end the war would begin.

Haaretz quoted the Israeli official saying: The negotiations cover issues related to how the war will end or continue, events in Gaza, and the return of all prisoners. Within this agreement, there is a full clause dedicated to matters that need to be discussed regarding the end of the war.

Both parties can add topics, which will be discussed during the 60-day ceasefire.

Earlier, Hebrew media reported that the Israeli regime is considering sending a second delegation to Doha if the Palestinian side, mediated by Qatar, Egypt, and the US, agrees to discuss the details of the agreement.

These proposals include a 60-day ceasefire during which 10 living prisoners and 18 bodies would be released, and final negotiations to end the war would resume during the ceasefire.

Despite gaps on issues such as the aid delivery mechanism and deployment of Israeli soldiers, Israeli sources still consider this agreement possible.

Donald Trump, the US President whose administration has expressed unconditional support for the Israeli regime in the Gaza genocide, claimed that 10 Israeli prisoners in Gaza would soon be released.

Over the past 21 months, several rounds of indirect negotiations between the Israeli regime and the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) have taken place to reach a ceasefire and prisoner exchange.

Two partial agreements were reached in November 2023 and last January; Benjamin Netanyahu, the Israeli Prime Minister, refused to finalize the last agreement and resumed the war on March 18.
