A new poll reveals that 55% of American voters are dissatisfied with how Donald Trump has handled immigration, and support for the deportation of migrants has dropped to 38%.

According to a report by Telesur TV, the latest Quinnipiac University poll shows that while 55% of voters are unhappy with Trump’s immigration policies, only 40% support his approach.

The survey, conducted between July 10 and 14, also indicates that approval for how deportations are managed has fallen to 38%, while 64% oppose deporting undocumented migrants to countries other than their country of origin.

Despite one of Trump’s major initiatives being the expansion of immigration enforcement—turning ICE into the largest security agency in the country—57% of voters expressed dissatisfaction with its performance. Meanwhile, 39% supported ICE’s actions, and 4% had no opinion.

Regarding Trump’s deportation policies, only 38% of respondents approve, while 59% are opposed, and 3% offered no response.

Additionally, 64% of voters disagree with the idea of deporting undocumented migrants to third countries, with just 30% in favor and 6% undecided.

According to Quinnipiac University, “Voters have sent a clear message of dissatisfaction with the current immigration policies.”
